Natalie Dessay provides snippets of performance information before each opera extract. She is a theatrical performer par excellence (as I had the fortune to discover at ROH production of La Fille du Regiment this month). Natalie combines tragic and comedic acting with nerve-tingling coloratura. Natalie Dessay is in my opinion a consummate opera superstar. She is stunning in this Mozart recording and is the greatest coloratura soprano of the day. Her performance of La fille du regiment, is a triumph.
